At Nanaksar Neighbourhood Early Childhood Centres, every child is respected as a capable, confident, and competent learner.

We provide nurturing, inclusive, and inspiring learning environments where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

With two purpose-built centres in the heart of Manurewa, our qualified teaching teams work alongside families to create meaningful learning experiences that foster curiosity, creativity, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.
Our curriculum is guided by Te Whāriki, New Zealand’s Early Childhood Curriculum, ensuring every child experiences a strong sense of:

1. Belonging | Mana Whenua
2. Wellbeing | Mana Atua
3. Contribution | Mana Tangata
4. Communication | Mana Reo
5. Exploration | Mana Aotūroa

Together, we build strong foundations that prepare children for school and for life.

About Us

Our Story

Nanaksar Early Learning Centres proudly operate under the Anand Isher Education and Community Trust (AIEC Trust), a charitable organisation committed to supporting children, families, and the wider community through high-quality education and care. Our centres celebrate diversity and create welcoming environments where children from all cultures, languages, and backgrounds feel respected and valued. We believe that every child deserves opportunities to flourish academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

Our Curriculum

Learning Through Play

Our curriculum reflects Te Whāriki, recognising that children learn naturally through exploration, investigation, creativity, and relationships. Children are encouraged to:

ask questions
solve problems
express themselves creatively
develop language and communication
build friendships
explore nature
discover mathematics and science through play
celebrate different cultures and traditions

Our programmes support children’s interests while extending their knowledge, confidence, and independence.

Our Philosophy

At Nanaksar Education Phulwari and Nanaksar Educare Centre, we believe every child is a competent, confident and capable learner who deserves to experience a strong sense of belonging, wellbeing and success. Guided by the values of Anand Isher Educational and Community Trust, our philosophy reflects our commitment to Aroha, Seva (selfless service), Manaakitanga, Ako, Kaitiakitanga, Te Whāriki and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

We welcome children and whānau into a loving, inclusive and supportive community where everyone is respected, valued and empowered. We honour each person’s mana, identity, language, culture, beliefs and right to autonomy, recognising that every child and family brings unique strengths and experiences that enrich our learning community.

Te Whāriki in Action

Our teaching practice is built around the five strands of Te Whāriki.

Mana Atua – Wellbeing

Children develop confidence, resilience, healthy habits, and emotional security.

Mana Whenua – Belonging

Children feel welcomed, respected, and connected to their learning community.

Mana Tangata – Contribution

Every child is encouraged to participate, collaborate, and recognise the value of their ideas.

Mana Reo – Communication

Children communicate through language, movement, music, storytelling, art, and culture.

Mana Aotūroa – Exploration

Children investigate, experiment, create, and make sense of the world around them.
